Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

The role involves operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts. Training will be provided in a class for one week, followed by hands-on experience on the production floor with guidance from a mentor.

Responsibilities

• Set up sewing machine with the correct thread.
• Increase production count to the expected output level for each product within 13 weeks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate sewing machine while seated for extended periods.
• Seek assistance or maintenance if issues arise with sewing machines.
• Ensure products meet quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to meet production goals.
• Experience or ability to adapt to a fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Industrial sewing experience.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Experience in medical device production.

Work Environment

The company is a Contract Manufacturing Medical Device Company experiencing 30% growth with 800 employees at its St. Charles location. The production floor consists of 75% industrial sewing machines in a clean GMP environment, requiring hair and beard nets as applicable. The facility is not climate-controlled, so it can get hot in the summer, but fans are provided throughout the area. The workforce is diverse, with over 5-6 languages spoken. Non-fluent English speakers can succeed with translation technology. Shift hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with optional overtime available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
