Location : Woodridge, IL
Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR department across multiple U.S. locations. This role provides hands-on support in HRIS management, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll preparation, compliance, and HR reporting. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
HRIS Management
Maintain and manage the HRIS system to ensure employee data accuracy and compliance.
Process personnel transactions such as new hires, promotions, terminations, transfers, and compensation updates.
Generate HR reports and support data audits as needed.
Recruiting & Onboarding
Post open positions, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate communications.
Oversee new hire processes, including I-9 verification, system setup, and orientation facilitation.
Support hiring managers in ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for all new employees.
Employee Records & Benefits Administration
Maintain accurate and confidential employee files in accordance with company and legal standards.
Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and COBRA notifications.
Payroll & Timekeeping
Audit timecards, monitor attendance issues, and prepare payroll data for review and processing.
Support payroll accuracy and ensure compliance with state and federal wage laws.
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain compliance documentation including OSHA logs, safety reports, and policy acknowledgments.
Assist with HR audits, state-specific compliance requirements, and documentation consistency across regions.
Safety, Training & Development
Coordinate HR and compliance training programs, track attendance, and maintain training records.
Support the management of workplace incidents and accident investigations.
Maintain OSHA 300 and 300A logs and oversee employee safety training completion.
General HR Support
Collaborate with HR Managers across divisions to align on department initiatives and best practices.
Provide administrative support on HR projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of HR generalist or coordinator experience ; multi-state or manufacturing/distribution experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency in HRIS systems (Paycom preferred), Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (EEO, FMLA, ACA, I-9, wage & hour).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
Schedule & Work Environment
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexibility as needed).
Some travel required to regional facilities.
