Contract quality assurance analyst
MX is seeking a Contract Quality Assurance Analyst II, a true subject matter expert who takes ownership of project quality and pioneers our automated testing efforts. You've moved beyond just finding bugs to preventing them. Quality is not a final step, but a mindset that infuses the entire development process. In this role, you'll ensure the delivery of flawless digital products and help shape the future of our QA practices.
This is a part-time contract role, averaging approximately 20 hours per week. The position can be fully remote; however, availability during Central Standard Time (CST) business hours is required.
What You'll Do
Own Project Quality: Serve as the subject matter expert for quality on your projects, taking a high level of ownership from inception to delivery.
Pioneer Automation: Independently build, implement, and maintain automated testing suites for new projects, identifying the best features and tools for the job.
Advance QA Practices: Collaborate with the Lead QA Analyst to push our QA process forward, helping to evolve our automation frameworks, enhance and maintain consistent JIRA ticketing practices, and project coverage.
Drive the Agile Process: Provide expert QA perspective in all aspects of our Agile process, from contributing to project design and estimation to managing the bug cycle and supporting releases.
What You'll Bring
- 3-5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a proven track record of owning project quality.
- Strong, hands-on experience writing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests using modern frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
- Deep proficiency in a variety of manual testing techniques and a comprehensive understanding of working within an Agile development team.
- Solid understanding of accessibility testing methodologies, WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines, and experience with assistive technology testing (screen readers, keyboard navigation, etc.)
- The ability to act as a technical subject matter expert, providing clear guidance to developers, business analysts, and other team members.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure), and familiarity with accessibility automation tools (axe, Pa11y, Lighthouse).
Compensation Range: $55 - $65 per hour. MX believes it will pay this pay range for this position at the time of this posting. Compensation will be determined based on the applicant's experience, skills, and qualifications, in addition to the requirements of the position. MX reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. This is an independent contractor relationship; therefore, ineligible to participate in MX's benefits program.
