Position Purpose :

The position is responsible for maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered equipment.

Job Requirements:

· Minimum of one year experience as a diesel technician; Preferred: Three or more years of experience as a diesel technician

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or two years trade school in the field of diesel technician/mechanic preferred

Essential Responsibilities:

· Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment within planned time tolerance to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency

· Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet equipment

· Perform quality maintenance repairs as required

· Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently

· Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications

· Follow procedures including document all work performed on work orders

· Report safety issues immediately to management

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

· Basic knowledge of heavy-duty class 8 engines and transmissions

· Ability to transfer knowledge

· Task oriented

· Display a positive attitude

· Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

· Knowledge of DOT regulations preferred

· Ability to take direction from managers

· Excellent attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Physical Requirements:

· Regularly required to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time

· Full range of body movements including use of hands to handle and feel objects

· Ability to bend the body to reach for objects and crouch when needed

· Must have command of all four senses

· Ability to lift 40 pounds with regularity
