Radiology Technologist Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center – General Medicine/Infectious Disease Unit
• Position: Travel Radiology Technologist / Telemetry Technician
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/30/2025 – End: 12/30/2025)
• Shifts: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
• Floating: Required within facility and to other units within 50 miles
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: $2/day with shuttle service

Radiology Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Radiology Technologist, Telemetry Technician, or EKG Technician
• High School Diploma or GED
• Registered/Active Certification as a Cardiographic Technician or EKG Technician
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
• Successful completion of EKG interpretation test
• Active Illinois state license required before start date
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions for flu only)
• Locals accepted (must live within 75 miles of the facility)

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients of all ages (neonate to older adult)
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and related diagnostic radiology procedures
• Identify and address baseline artifact and provide corrective actions
• Ensure accurate patient identification and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Prepare patients for radiology and telemetry procedures (alcohol prep, shaving, care for diaphoretic patients)
• Float to other units as needed to support facility operations
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including time off and holiday requirements
