Compensation ~ Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2200 - $2260 Job Details – OR RN Locum Tenens Opportunity Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract) Location: Springfield, Illinois 62781 Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet facility Start Date: September 2, 2025 End Date: December 2, 2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend) Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 19:15), Friday, Saturday, Sunday; every third weekend is 7p–7a Hours per Week: 36 On-Call: Yes, approximately 1/week (rarely called in) Charting System: Cerner Scrub Color: Provided Parking: Free with permit Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a Level I trauma hospital Active Illinois RN license (or in process) BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) Travel nursing experience required General OR and trauma nursing experience required Experience with Cerner charting preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from Springfield facility CNOR and CST certifications preferred Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Ability to float within skill set as needed Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities Circulate and/or scrub in a 23-room operating room, supporting all surgical service lines except cardiovascular Deliver care for trauma, general surgery, bariatric, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, and emergency management cases Demonstrate proficiency in procedures including laparoscopic cases, appendectomy, colon resection, craniotomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, organ donation, and more Utilize and maintain surgical equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables Administer blood products, maintain infection control standards, and ensure proper specimen handling and universal protocol adherence Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations as required Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care Apply now to join our Springfield, Illinois healthcare team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
