Title: Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift)

Location: Countryside, IL (60525)

Pay Range: $30 - $35

Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 2PM - 10PM. (Overtime available)

We are a food ingredient manufacturer based outside of Chicago with over 100 years in business. We develop and manufacture custom food ingredients for big brands, retail & foodservice markets specializing in specialty sauces, marinades, dressings and pastes. We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Countryside, IL.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on food production equipment, including mixers, pumps, conveyors, and packaging machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards during all maintenance activities.
• Inspect equipment for wear and tear, replace parts, and maintain accurate maintenance logs for regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance during non-peak hours and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Need For This Job

• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems; PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP standards.
• At least 1 year of experience in an industrial or food manufacturing maintenance role.
