Janitor
Janitor/Trash Compactor/Environmental Service Worker Sanitation Team Compensation: $18/hour Hours: M-TH: 6:30am - 4pm & F: 6:30am - 10:30am Applications without resumes will be discarded The Janitor/Trash Compactor/Environmental Service Worker performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting quality goals for customer orders by maintaining a clean and disinfected facility within office areas, common rest areas, warehouse, outside grounds, and by performing other duties as assigned. It is this worker’s professional responsibility to clean and maintain the facility to ensure cleanliness, sanitation throughout the plant to comply with all requirements of the Food Safety and Environmental Plans. Duties & Responsibilities
- Must understand and follow instructions on warning labels on products, and/or their MSDS sheets.
- Must follow instructions on proper procedure and amounts for diluting of chemicals used.
- All offices – Vacuum daily, dust office desks routinely, and empty trash daily
- Plant Manager’s Office – All of the above including the following: dust desks and windows daily.
- Lab & R&D – Empty trash cans and mop daily.
- Warehouse – Floor – swept and mopped using floor scrubber daily and under pallets to be swept daily.
- Racks – wiped down with wet rag, mild soap, and hot water continually
- Cobwebs – should be removed using a dust mop continually.
- Lunchroom – clean refrigerator weekly, clean tables daily, mop floor daily, wipe down vending machine with non-abrasive sponge and mild soap daily, mop floor daily, wipe down vending machines with non-abrasive sponge and mild soap daily and empty trash cans daily or as needed. Wipe out microwaves. Clean doors and windows.
- Restrooms – Floor swept and mopped daily, trash dumped daily or as needed, mirrors cleaned, bowls need to be washed with a brush and cleaner daily.
- Locker Room – Floor swept and mopped daily, shoes, hangers, hairnets and trash need to be picked off floor daily, dust top of lockers weekly and scrub shower routinely.
- Trash – trash cans should be dumped when full and trash should never be left inside the building overnight.
- Place trash in the Dumpster and Cardboard/shrink wrap in to bailing equipment to compact and band for sell to scrap dealers. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner so that it can receive incoming baskets of trash.
- Sort Pallets into reusable and broken (sell off) stacks.
SAFETY & GMP OBJECTIVES
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Comply with all company safety and environment policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA, EPA and other regulatory rules and regulations (THINK “SAFETY FIRST”).
- Ability to recognize unsafe acts and conditions in the facility and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to fully complete appropriate paperwork related to specific job functions in addition to quality and safety/training.
- Complete all annual trainings.
- Ability to recognize and report all incidents; even those that do not warrant treatment.
- Review and execute our Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never compromising quality.
- Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
- Wear proper protective gear at all time.
