Senior Maintenance Tech (Plastic Injection)

Sicame Industries is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in all of our products and services. As part of our continued focus on operational excellence lean manufacturing, we are seeking a skilled Senior Maintenance Tech to join our team.

Essential Functions

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on plastic injection molding machines (hydraulic, electric, and hybrid)
• Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment including Wittmann dryers, material handling systems, robots, chillers, mold temperature controllers, conveyors, and granulators
• Troubleshoot and repair Wittmann robots and automation systems, including end-of-arm tooling and safety interlocks
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Support mold changeovers, setup, and startup to minimize downtime
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce unplanned downtime
• Perform basic PLC, HMI, sensor, and control troubleshooting as required
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, PM schedules, and spare parts inventory utilizing CMMS system.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and plant policies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and equipment upgrades

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and robotics (e.g., FANUC, Wittmann).
• Strong understanding of mold operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of hot runner and cold runner systems.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC/HMI interfaces for diagnostics and process support.
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and continuous improvement practices within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
• 7+ years of maintenance experience in a plastic injection molding environment
• Hands-on experience with Robotics and Wittmann auxiliary equipment
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (24VDC, 120/240/480VAC)
• Solid knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Flexibility to work off-shift, weekends, or on-call as needed
