Job Title : Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location : Wheeling, IL
Pay Range : $55,000 - $60,000
Benefits : Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k)

Role Overview : Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for an Accounts Receivable Specialist. Our client located in Wheeling, IL is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. They are seeking an individual with clear communication, attention to detail, and is eager to learn and grow within a company. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!

Key Responsibilities :

• Follow up with customers to ensure updated resale certificates are received and documented properly
• Maintain and update customer records and contact lists in a timely and organized manner
• Assist with basic collections efforts, including calling customers and recording detailed notes in the system
• Work alongside team members to manage a mix of high-value accounts and inbound leads/notices
• Process incoming manual check payments and credit card applications
• Complete daily deposits, with heavier volume expected early in the week
• Ensure accurate posting of payments and maintain clean, up-to-date accounts
• Research and resolve discrepancies or payment issues with precision and urgency
• Support AR reporting and account aging reviews as needed

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in accounts receivable, collections, or cash application
• Strong knowledge of manual check processing and daily payment cycles
• Proficiency in ERP systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Self-starter with the ability to manage priorities and work independently
• Proven willingness to investigate and resolve payment issues thoroughly
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, not required
