Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs diagnostic evaluation and repair of hand tools, hydraulic tools, battery-powered tools, hoists, and hot sticks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Splice fiber-optic cable drops.
  • Perform inspection and diagnostic evaluation of tools.
  • Identify parts required to repair tools.
  • Assists in preparing tool repair estimates for customers and placing orders for repair parts.
  • Repair tools and perform quality control tests of repaired items.
  • Build custom rope products and ground sets.
  • Perform high voltage testing.
  • Enter data into the computer system and maintain required documentation.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and practices good interpersonal relations with customers and co-workers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Background repairing hydraulic systems or tools.
  • Knowledge of safety practices.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand on your feet most of the day.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in repairing mechanical, battery, electric, and gas-powered tools.
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
