Electrical Construction Engineer
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the owner, contractor, and electricians to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
- Be on-site regularly to observe, measure, and document electrical and automation-related construction activities.
- Inspect electrical and automation equipment and verify installations meet design and safety standards.
- Perform acceptance testing for automation systems and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Attend construction progress meetings as the owner/engineer representative and provide technical input.
- Edit and review engineering plans using AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
- Prepare CAD plan sheet drawings and assist project engineers and managers with tasks throughout project delivery.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management Technology or related field experience preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in construction inspection and maintenance, with a strong focus on electrical and automation systems.
- Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies.
- Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland area (own transportation).
- Work in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
