Production Manager – Mortgage Origination | Oak Lawn, IL

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and grow our Loan Officer (LO) origination team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring LOs while ensuring efficient, compliant loan production. The right candidate will combine operational expertise with strong leadership skills to drive team performance and pipeline growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Growth: Recruit, hire, and train Loan Officers and support staff; create structured onboarding and mentorship programs; foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Pipeline & Production Oversight: Monitor daily pipeline activity; ensure timely loan closings; maintain loan quality, compliance, and customer service standards.
• Business Development: Support LOs in building referral networks with real estate agents, builders, and financial professionals; represent the company with integrity in the community.
• Reporting & Metrics: Track key performance indicators (volume, pull-through, turn times, quality) and report to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of mortgage origination experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or production management role
• Proven experience recruiting, hiring, and training Loan Officers
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team accountability skills
• Knowledge of FNMA, FHA, VA guidelines, and Encompass LOS
• NMLS license preferred (active or previously held)
• Reside within commuting distance of Oak Lawn, IL
• U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship offered)

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience at independent mortgage banks or smaller lending institutions
• Understanding of MBS or servicing operations
• Interest in moving into executive leadership

Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite with significant field and in-person engagement.
