Extrusion & Blow Molding Production Lead

A day in the life

Step into a clean, safe, climate‑controlled plant where you lead by doing. You’ll start your shift by preparing top‑tier extrusion and blow‑molding equipment, confirming setpoints, and walking the line. Throughout the day, you’ll fine‑tune heat zones, water‑cooling temperatures, and hydraulic pressures to keep production humming and quality consistent. When something isn’t right, you’ll troubleshoot quickly, perform routine preventive maintenance, and get the line back on track.

Quality matters here. You’ll verify Plastipak customer requirements by checking bottle weights and dimensions, logging results, and acting fast on variances. You’ll collaborate with your team to spot opportunities that make the operation safer, more reliable, higher quality, and lower in scrap—and then help implement those ideas.

What you’ll tackle

• Operate and oversee extrusion & blow‑molding equipment to produce rigid plastic containers
• Continuously monitor equipment and adjust heat, cooling, and hydraulic parameters
• Troubleshoot issues and perform routine preventive maintenance
• Conduct quality checks (weights, dimensions) to meet Plastipak customer specifications
• Drive continuous improvement focused on safety, reliability, quality, and scrap reduction
• Grow through formal and side‑by‑side training with clear paths for advancement

What you bring

• Availability for 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) or 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:00 am)
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Working knowledge of injection or blow‑molding equipment (preferred)
• Foundational understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro‑mechanical systems
• Strength in troubleshooting and problem solving
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Compensation

• $55,000–$60,000 based on skills, experience, qualifications, and education
• Eligible for an annual bonus tied to individual and company performance
