Warehouse Operator
Job Title: Packer
Job Description
As a packer, you will be responsible for packing kits of various fasteners and small metal parts. You will receive work orders from the Packaging Manager and complete them according to defined requirements. You will be expected to stop work order processing upon identifying any nonconforming conditions. This role involves operating electronic counting scales, heat sealers, and automated packaging machines. You will maintain the integrity of inventory, including recording the final inventory count of packaged parts upon completion of a work order. Additionally, you will be responsible for the general maintenance of the warehouse facility and adhering to workmanship standards and conduct codes.
Responsibilities
- Pack kits of various fasteners and small metal parts.
- Receive and complete work orders as assigned by the Packaging Manager.
- Identify and halt processing for any nonconforming conditions.
- Operate electronic counting scales, heat sealers, and automated packaging machines.
- Maintain inventory integrity and record final inventory count.
- Perform general housekeeping of the packaging area.
- Adhere to workmanship standards and conduct codes.
Essential Skills
- Experience in packing, labeling, and palletizing.
- Proficiency in warehouse operations and kit assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to handle weights up to 60 lbs.
- Capability to stand for 6-8 hours.
- Forklift driving skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods.
- Physically demanding role requiring heavy lifting (50-65 lbs).

Work Environment
You will work in the package department, engaging in manual packing work, auto packing machine work, kitting work, and potentially vertical shipping operations. The work environment is a very clean, climate-controlled general warehouse, where you will work with approximately 15-20 people. The position is for the 1st shift, operating from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with early leave on Fridays during summer hours until Labor Day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
