Associate Attorney - Litigation

We are seeking a highly-skilled attorney with 3-4 years of civil litigation experience to join our Chicago, Illinois office as an Associate.

Our dynamic Litigation Practice Group is known for its comprehensive approach to handling matters related to complex insurance claims analysis and representing clients in high-stakes litigation cases.

This role centers on general litigation defense, representing both insurance carriers and insured clients. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about delivering exceptional legal services. This position is hybrid in our Chicago, Illinois office.

• Handling all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
• Representing insurance carriers and insureds in a broad range of civil defense matters, including general liability, product liability, transportation, and medical malpractice claims.
• Conducting legal research, drafting briefs, and preparing case evaluations and reports for clients.
• Developing and implementing litigation strategies.
• Conducting and defending depositions and arguing dispositive motions.
• Participating in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Providing strategic legal advice to clients in general liability, product liability, professional liability, medical malpractice, and related claims.
• Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• 3 to 4 years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience (Required)
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for court appearances
• Background in general litigation defense, with exposure to medical malpractice and/or aviation defense considered a plus

Salary Commensurate with experience: $117,000 – $140,000 per year
