Description:
Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is a stable and growing freight transportation company seeking an Operations Supervisor to plan, schedule, coordinate, and implement methods to ensure efficient, error-free movement of customer freight. The role combines administrative and operational responsibilities in office and dock environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile production and service records and measure performance against standards.
• Inspect personnel performance and adjust work practices to improve Service Center operations.
• Review logs and reports; coordinate scheduling, production, and administrative support.
• Set up appointment freight deliveries and assist with billing, rating, and manifesting.
• Maintain excellent communication with internal and external customers.
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, training, and development of Service Center personnel.
• Ensure safety compliance (DOT, EPA, ICC, OSHA) and proper facility maintenance.
• Investigate accidents or discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Handle special assignments and facilitate team information meetings as needed.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of LTL/Transportation industry and surrounding geography.
• Experience managing drivers and dockworkers.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; minimum 18 years old.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to perform both administrative and physical dock tasks, including standing, walking, and handling freight.
