Pilates Instructor - Mary Lubko Center

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of assigned group fitness classes for adults 50 years and above.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must have at least two (2) years of experience in teaching senior specific fitness classes. Experience in exercise programming preferred. Must have good organizational, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Plan, organize, and implement senior specific fitness classes
2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of exercise science, programs, and benefits.
3. Setup equipment and supplies.
4. Interact with participants in a group setting.
5. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
6. Follow the Wheaton Park District and Parks Plus Fitness Center policies, procedures, and guidelines.
7. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
8. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC

Must have and maintain: a current CPR/AED certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently move about the program space with repetitive body movement during class, as well as move items such as program supplies, etc. weighing up to 10lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: handle all weather conditions when traveling between facilities, frequently jn a group fitness environment, occasionally encounter rain, snow, insects, dirt, dust and mud.

SALARY

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
