Export Compliance Manager (Lisle)
A growing international company is seeking an Export Compliance Manager to join its global compliance team. This role is responsible for supporting all aspects of U.S. export compliance, as well as applicable export regulations in other jurisdictions. While the position primarily supports U.S. operations, it also includes oversight of exports from Mexico, Canada, Europe, South America, and Asia.
The Export Compliance Manager will manage the day‑to‑day operational execution of export control requirements and support the ongoing effectiveness of the company’s export compliance program. This individual will ensure compliance with applicable export control laws and regulations through licensing support, product and technology classification, restricted party screening oversight, and export operations management.
In addition, the role will oversee key export processes, including coordination with freight forwarders, review of export filings, support of U.S. export documentation requirements, and maintenance of compliant export recordkeeping. The Export Compliance Manager will also develop and monitor dashboards and KPIs to assess compliance performance, standardize procedures and best practices, provide internal guidance and training, and partner cross‑functionally to strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day export compliance activities to ensure adherence to applicable export control regulations and sanctions requirements.
- Support export licensing activities and classify products, equipment, and technology in accordance with relevant export control laws.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assist with the implementation and maintenance of export compliance policies and procedures.
- Oversee restricted party screening processes and coordinate escalation of potential compliance issues.
- Manage export operations, including coordination with freight forwarders and oversight of export transactions.
- Review export filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support U.S. export documentation requirements and maintain compliant export recordkeeping practices.
- Assist with export compliance audits and support corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Provide training and guidance on export compliance requirements to internal teams, expatriates, inpatriates, and third parties.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally across the organization to promote consistent and effective export compliance practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of import/export administration experience; or
- 8+ years of progressive import/export administration experience.
