Cross Dock Delivery Operations Manager - Chicagoland area

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cross Dock Delivery Operations Manager to lead and oversee dedicated delivery operations across assigned cross-dock locations. This role focuses on final mile delivery, multi-site management, and driving a high-performing, customer service–driven team. You will ensure compliance, optimize routes, and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of 5+ supervisors across multiple regional cross-dock sites, driving performance, engagement, and effective labor planning.
• Manage final mile delivery operations and oversee linehaul performance while partnering with upstream fulfillment centers.
• Ensure customer delivery requirements are met with minimal service disruptions and maintain a customer-focused approach.
• Serve as the primary liaison between locations and carriers, ensuring transportation service levels meet standards and approved carrier usage is followed.
• Evaluate cross-dock productivity, service levels, compliance, route optimization, and multi-market routing in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee warehouse sorting, loading, and other operational processes to ensure efficiency in high-volume, fast-paced settings.
• Collaborate with onsite supervisors to resolve delivery issues and escalate recurring trends to regional leadership.
• Conduct transportation audits to maintain regulatory compliance and delivery efficiency.

Education & Experience:

• 7+ years of relevant experience in operations, transportation, or logistics.
• Prior experience managing a fleet of trucks.
• Route Optimization in a high-volume / fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel within the region - 25%.
