The Chemist will be responsible for the development of new coatings and primers and provide technical assistance and support of current customers and products. Other responsibilities include product portfolio enhancement, profitability improvement, and broaden technology innovation and Intellectual Property.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop, qualify and evaluate coatings and primers that would lead to commercialized products
• Determine problem cause, test, analyze, and implement product and process improvements
• Execute systematic project management utilizing development systems
• Innovative and utilize novel chemistry or products
• Customer and vendor interactions are critical to this position from both a strategic and maintenance perspective

Required Experience & Education:

• BS Degree or equivalent industry experience
• 0-2 year(s) of laboratory experience
• Must be able to collaborate with teammates to provide problem solving for customers
• Ability to apply technical knowledge to project management

Preferred Experience & Education:

• 2-5 years with technical coating development and commercialization experience
• Understanding in polymer energy cure chemistry is a plus

• Travel Requirements: 0-5%
• Must demonstrate introductory knowledge of materials and formulations
• Demonstrated structure/property relationship in coatings and primers
• Must demonstrate ability to utilize and implement use of all quality tools

Salary Range: 55K-60K
