Job overview and responsibilities
The Analyst/Senior Analyst - Network Capacity Forecasting & Analytics is responsible for developing United's network capacity outlook based on network strategy, fleet plans, and flight schedules. The position requires passion for data analytics and storytelling, with a strong willingness to dig deep into details while maintaining the ability to see the big picture.

Build capacity forecasts of the next 36 months and synthesize findings into monthly presentations to educate and influence decision making by Finance and Operations groups

Collaborate across Global Network Planning to develop solutions that allow us to realize our bold commercial ambitions

Partner with the IKC Network Analytics team to innovate the forecasting process, improve accuracy and investigate variances

Work cross functionally with other Commercial teams, United Express, Finance and Operations to ensure viability of network plans, identify potential risks, and optimize United's collective success

Evaluate capacity implications of various fleet scenarios including aircraft purchases, retirements, reconfigurations, maintenance events, and changes to aircraft delivery timelines

Support senior management with network outlook as needed for earnings calls, board meetings, and investor conferences

Analyze trends in industry capacity and changes to competitor network strategies
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Data Science or other relevant degree

2+ years of relevant professional work experience

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Detail oriented - skeptical when metrics and anecdote differ

Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn, and a bias for action

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel functions and PowerPoint

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

NOTE: This position may be hired at the Analyst level or Senior Analyst level depending on candidate background, skill level and experience.
The base pay range for this role is $66,500.00 to $106,602.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
