Byerly Aviation is now accepting applications for a full time Automotive Mechanic to join our Ground Support Team.

Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Ground support equipment (GSE) is the support equipment for the operations of aircraft on the ground. Equipment functions include ground power operations, aircraft mobility, and loading operations (for both cargo and passengers). The GSE mechanic services and repairs ground service equipment, including portable stairs, fuel trucks, towing tractors, aircraft tugs, man lifts, APU's, and company automobiles.

Duties and Responsibilities

The GSE Mechanic performs routine maintenance as well as minor/major repairs of ground equipment and automobiles. Repairs are made indoors in a garage or outdoors on the ramp. Responsibilities include:

• Repairing and overhauling ground support equipment
• Performing troubleshooting of ground support equipment
• Maintaining equipment in a safe condition
• Performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing
• Keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working conditions
• Keeping work areas clean and free of hazards

Qualifications for GSE Technicians

• Candidates for this position typically should have 1 year + experience as an auto mechanic or technical training
• Basic set of tools
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
• High school diploma required and technical training helpful

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Starting Wage: $24.00 - $25.00/hour
