Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm in its Chicago office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a sophisticated commercial litigation practice while working closely with experienced partners and gaining meaningful client exposure.

The firm's litigation team handles a broad range of complex commercial disputes and offers associates the opportunity to take on substantive responsibilities early in their careers. Responsibilities

• Manage and support all phases of complex commercial litigation matters

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents

• Handle written discovery and manage document production processes

• Participate in depositions, witness preparation, and case strategy development

• Assist with oral arguments, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation

• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel

• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case management and business development initiatives

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

• Minimum of 2 years of complex commercial litigation experience

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Experience managing litigation matters and discovery processes

• Deposition experience and courtroom exposure preferred

• Strong organizational and case management abilities

• Licensed and in good standing in Illinois, or eligible and actively pursuing admission

Compensation

Base Salary: $230,000+

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
