Resin‑Coated Sand Packaging Technician - Bulk Bagging & Forklift

Join a crew that keeps production moving. As a Packaging Technician, you’ll set up, fill, package, and label products to exacting quality standards and customer specifications while supporting mixer and process operators. You’ll be trained thoroughly and positioned for advancement as you master the operation.

A Day in This Role

• Begin by inspecting your area and PPE; prepare the packaging station for the shift.
• Use a lift truck to bring finished material to the bagging line.
• Hang large bulk "super sack" bags (rated up to 4,000 lbs.) on the station fasteners and start the equipment to fill orders accurately.
• Apply correct labels and place finished goods onto designated pallets.
• Record what you’ve packed and transfer packaged product to warehouse locations by lift truck.
• Keep the area tidy—sweep up spillage and maintain 5S standards throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required protective gear at all times.
• Progress through a structured, comprehensive training program (approximately 6 months) and demonstrate proficiency.

How You’ll Support Production

• Step in for Process Operators as needed to maintain throughput.
• Assist Process and Mixer Operators with staging raw materials, collecting product samples, and performing basic quality control checks.
• Clean and wash machinery and equipment; use a power gun to remove accumulated material safely.
• Take on other tasks as assigned by management to support plant goals.

Background We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Dependable plant experience with the ability to work with limited supervision (preferred).
• At least 1 year in packaging, machine operation, or maintenance within manufacturing (preferred).
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

You’ll frequently be around moving mechanical equipment with vibration and airborne particles; noise levels can be loud. Gloves, hardhat, safety glasses, and protective boots are required; a respirator may be required in certain situations. Expect both indoor and outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry 20–30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally to move materials and finished goods.
• Push, pull, or roll drums up to 100 lbs.
• Stand, squat, bend, and stretch regularly—especially when hanging bulk bags.
• Work at height on platforms and in tight or awkward spaces when required.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect materials with sufficient visual acuity.
