About the Position
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9H Days, 4 days per week Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EKG interpretation and drip titration experience Description: The role involves providing nursing care in the interventional radiology department. The department consists of 6 labs with pre-op and phase 2 recovery areas. On average, 20-30 cases are handled per day. Common diagnoses include GI bleed, strokes, biopsies, central line placements, drains, and vascular procedures. A charge RN is present on each shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and is responsible for case management and coverage during breaks. There is one Patient Care Technician available per shift. Shifts are scheduled for 4 days per week, with hours ranging from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Call requirements include 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks, which will encompass weekends and holidays. The response time for call is 30 minutes. Surgical scrubs are provided for staff. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 during procedures and a maximum of 1:4 in recovery.
