Position Title: Digital Media Teacher: Film, Theatre & Storytelling
Site: Cameron Elementary School (Chicago, IL)
Grade Levels: 3rd–5th Grade
Schedule: Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 3:45 PM – 5:15 PM
Contract Period: ASAP – May 21, 2025
Compensation: $25 – $40 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Includes 1 hour of paid lesson planning per week.
Follows CPS holidays or closures schedule.
Requirement: Must attend an in-person orientation before start date.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Digital Media Teacher: Film, Theatre & Storytelling to lead an interdisciplinary arts program for students in grades 3–5. This program blends filmmaking, theatre, and creative writing , guiding students to develop original stories through performance, scriptwriting, and digital production. The ideal candidate will nurture creativity, confidence, and collaboration—empowering students to express themselves through both stage and screen.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans using PCCCArts’ Digital Media: Film, Theatre & Storytelling curriculum.
- Teach core concepts of storytelling, acting, directing, camera operation, lighting, and editing.
- Encourage teamwork and creative risk-taking through group projects that combine theatre and film.
- Foster a classroom culture grounded in empathy, creativity, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Provide regular feedback to students and adapt lessons to meet varied learning styles.
- Ensure proper care and organization of classroom equipment (cameras, props, lighting, etc.).
- Coordinate student showcases (film screenings, performances, or exhibitions).
- Collaborate with fellow teaching artists and school partners to connect learning across disciplines.
- Participate in professional development and PCCCArts meetings when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or professional experience in Digital Media, Theatre, Film, Storytelling, or Education.
- Experience teaching or facilitating creative programs for elementary-aged youth.
- Knowledge of digital tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, CapCut, etc.) and/or theatrical production.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to PCCCArts’ mission of equitable and culturally-rooted arts education.

Compensation
