ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and maintain histological stains and dilutions in compliance with laboratory protocols.
• Process and embed tissue specimens precisely for microscopic examination.
• Prepare and section formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimens for histological evaluation.
• Perform routine and special staining techniques to enhance cellular structures.
• Maintain quality control procedures to ensure optimal slide preparation.
• Manage the labeling, filing, and storage of histological slides to maintain an organized laboratory environment.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Document all laboratory data accurately and consistently to meet quality assurance standards.
• Participate in training and mentoring new staff members or students as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards as outlined by CLIA and OSHA.
• Perform other related duties as required by the laboratory supervisor.
• Uphold high ethical standards consistent with the company’s mission and values.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred.
• Previous experience in a histology laboratory setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation Range: $24.00 - $37.00 per hour. Final offer will be based on a combination of skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
