Job Title: Quality and Reliability Engineer (Component Reliability)
Location: Arlington Heights, IL (On-Site)
Compensation: $90K - $130K (DOE)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Quality and Reliability Engineer to support the performance, durability, and long-term stability of RF and electronic components. This role contributes to new product development, reviews reliability results, and helps strengthen quality processes throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with design, test, operations, and manufacturing partners to evaluate data, support investigations, and maintain the documentation needed to ensure consistent product quality.Key Responsibilities:
- Review product performance data, reliability results, and manufacturing trends to identify patterns, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate reliability and qualification activities, including planning tests, tracking samples, collecting data, and preparing final reports.
- Develop and maintain test instructions, electrical test checklists, reliability sequences, and other documentation that supports development and production.
- Assist with investigations into product issues, customer returns, or production deviations, and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with engineering, test, and operations teams to ensure products meet quality expectations during design, validation, and production.
- Recommend process, documentation, and reliability method improvements to strengthen overall quality.
- Support compliance with internal quality procedures and ISO-aligned quality systems.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, component-level testing, or reliability qualification methods.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware quality, component reliability, electronics testing, or similar functions.
- Understanding of reliability test methods such as thermal cycling, high-temperature stress, life testing, or environmental aging.
- Experience using data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, MATLAB, Python, or similar).
- Ability to write technical documentation, test procedures, and clear summary reports.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, or FMEA).
- Experience with RF hardware, high-frequency electronics, or power-related components (desired).
