Location: Chicago, Illinois Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Neurology General - Work Type: Full Time General Neurology – Advanced Practice Provider Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL Rush University Medical Center , a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of General Neurology Advanced Practice Provider . Position Specifics: •This role will be joining the general neurology division managing complex patients in an outpatient setting. The position will work alongside physicians and APPs partnering as a team. •The Rush Department of Neurological Sciences is a large academic department with more than 100 faculty, spanning neurologic specialties, providing the opportunity to collaborate with other neurology specialists. •Typical schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Key Responsibilities  •Clinical Excellence: Perform detailed neurological histories and physical examinations to formulate differential diagnoses and treatment plans. •Chronic Disease Management: Manage long-term care for patients with chronic conditions across the spectrum of general neurology including patients with autonomic disorders, chronic pain and migraines. •Diagnostic Coordination: Order and interpret specialized diagnostic tests, including Brain/Spine MRI, EEG, EMG/NCS, and laboratory studies. •Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the patient and the multidisciplinary team, including neurosurgery, physical therapy, social work, and pharmacy. •Patient & Family Education: Serve as a primary resource for patients and their caregivers regarding disease progression, medication side effects, and lifestyle modifications.  Preferred Qualifications:  •Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in General Neurology is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered. Position Requirements: Nurse Practitioner: •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process •Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position •Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) •CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications Physician Assistant: •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process •Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program •Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants •CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Across the system, the APPs are supported by 4 levels of leadership, including 39 Lead APPs, three chief CRNAs, and a Senior Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
