Engineering Manager
Our client, a key player in the fastener industry, is seeking an Engineering Manager. This person will lead the development, optimization, and execution of manufacturing engineering processes to support production goals, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as a strategic partner between customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and cross-functional departments, with a focus on team leadership, process innovation, and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing and design engineers, providing guidance on technical execution, problem-solving, and professional growth.
Oversee the creation of engineering masters and work orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production schedules.
Review and approve engineering designs, including SolidWorks drawings, tooling, and fixturing, ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and customer compliance.
Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and drive plant-wide continuous improvement projects to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
Resolve complex production and process issues by collaborating closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
Evaluate and optimize process flow and plant layout, recommending automation or capital investments where appropriate.
Manage engineering support for the commissioning of new equipment and technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Interface directly with customers on technical requirements, engineering changes, and quality improvements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, ERP systems, and CAD
Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building capabilities
Excellent cross-functional communication and project management skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize and drive initiatives across multiple departments
Deep knowledge of manufacturing operations, materials, and lean principles
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
5–10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in fasteners, metalworking, or machining
2+ years of direct leadership or supervisory experience in an engineering or production setting
CNC programming and machining knowledge strongly preferred
Experience with capital projects, layout redesigns, and tooling development is a plus
