The Registry also conducts investigations of companies and the keeping of the company and partnership register.

The Role
The eventual appointee will be appointed at an Administrative Assistant in Grade 10 level and will report to the She selected candidate will be appointed as Administrative Assistant in Grade 10 and will be expected to report to the Chief Officer within the Insolvency and Receivership Unit. Within this scope, the duties to be undertaken may include any of the following:
- Prepare preliminary reports in terms of Art 227 of the Companies Act; interim reports and final reports for filing in court in relation to companies in which the Official Receiver has been appointed liquidator;
- Prepare financial reports for companies assigned to the Office of the Official Receiver;
- Assist the Official Receiver during meetings, take minutes and draft reports about such meetings in preparation for court submission.
- Assist the Official Receiver with any research and filings of court acts and drafting reports, court applications, notes, garnishee orders or any other document required in the course of court proceedings, including preparation for oral submissions in court; and
- Attend court sittings with the Official Receiver or someone from her legal team.
Furthermore s/he will be expected to assist in other duties and other Units as may be directed from time to time either by the Chief Officer within the Insolvency and Receivership Unit or by any other official to whom the Chief’s authority is delegated.
Any other duties described above may change depending on the exigencies of the Unit and/or the MBR.
About You
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Diploma of Legal procurator or in Accountancy or in a Finance discipline or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 5 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Informative Centre (MQRIC)* or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level; OR
- Candidates who possess at least one (1) year prior experience in a related area AND Diploma of Legal Procurator or in Accountancy or in a Finance discipline or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 4 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Informative Centre (MQRIC)* or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level; OR
- Consideration will also be given to candidates who at least have three (3) years’ prior experience in a related area AND a minimum of 5 ‘O’ levels (one of which may be an ECDL Certification or an equivalent qualification).
* It is the responsibility of applicants in possession of qualifications awarded by Universities and other similar institutions outside Malta to produce a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). Applicants should do so preferably at application stage or otherwise at the preliminary interview should an applicant be selected for such interview.
