Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer

Provide technical support to troubleshoot basic process issues and assist operators in maintaining workflows. Document downtime trends and evaluate defective hardware for basic disposition actions such as rework or scrap. Assist in creating and documenting basic manufacturing processes, ensuring workflows are captured accurately and reflect production requirements. Collect data to support evaluations of process capability and identify minor issues in production processes. Assist in maintaining and updating production documentation, including SOPs, process flow diagrams, and basic work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to troubleshoot process issues and assist operators in maintaining workflows.

• Document downtime trends and evaluate defective hardware for disposition actions.

• Assist in creating and documenting manufacturing processes.

• Collect data to support evaluations of process capability and identify production issues.

• Assist in maintaining and updating production documentation.

• Identify inefficiencies in manufacturing operations by collecting data and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or 6+ years of experience

• For entry-level: internship and 3.0 GPA highly preferred

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and maintaining documentation

• CAD experience required, Creo experience is a plus

• For experienced candidates: experience on the manufacturing floor improving processes

• Understanding of PFMEA's

• Experience in Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing

• Project management skills

• DFM experience (Design for Manufacturing)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Loves Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
