Job Summary
W e are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver capital projects and programs within a manufacturing, specialty chemicals, petrochemical, refining, or industrial operations environment. This role is responsible for managing projects from initial study and front-end development through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
Job Description
- Lead integrated project teams on high-complexity capital projects with budgets up to $5 million.
- Manage a portfolio of 8–10 medium- to high-complexity projects with a combined value of up to $10 million.
- Manage multi-year programs exceeding three years in duration with total installed costs (TIC) up to $5 million.
- Oversee phased projects executed across multiple years with values up to $10 million.
- Develop and maintain project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with project governance, stage-gate processes, and execution standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams throughout all project phases.
- Manage relationships with external engineering firms, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Oversee front-end engineering, detailed design, procurement activities, construction planning, and project execution.
- Ensure quality assurance, construction safety, and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
- Evaluate constructability and implement best practices for efficient project delivery.
- Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead stakeholder engagement efforts and maintain alignment among project sponsors, operations teams, contractors, and business leaders.
- Facilitate decision-making and resolve issues impacting project scope, schedule, budget, or quality.
- Identify integration points across multiple disciplines and ensure coordinated project execution.
- Develop project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasting models.
- Partner with procurement and legal teams to establish labor, equipment, and service contracts.
- Monitor project expenditures and maintain cost control throughout project execution.
- Ensure financial reporting and project performance metrics are accurate and timely.
- Shift: 8am - 5pm M-F
S kills Required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience managing capital projects valued up to $5 million.
- Experience within specialty chemicals, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, or related industrial industries.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects through all phases of development and execution.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
- Experience developing project schedules, cost estimates, and detailed execution plans.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices, risk management, and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural, and matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree
- Experience managing automation and digital projects, including DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) implementations.
- Program management experience involving multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience supporting production, operations, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with SAP.
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred.

Education
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Pay Rate
- $40 - $45 pe r hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
