To be considered, candidates must complete the following steps: Frontline National Exam & NTN Application: Complete the Frontline National Exam, fill out the NTN Application, and submit the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA).
City of DeKalb Application: Submit the City of DeKalb employment application.
Note: Lateral officers are not required to complete testing and may apply directly through the lateral process. Salary Information: Starting: $81,016 annually

Department Overview:
The DeKalb Police Department employs 75 sworn officers and 30 civilian personnel. It is organized into four divisions: Patrol, Administrative Services, Community Support Services, and Investigations. The department's team includes a Chief, Deputy Chief, 4 Commanders, 12 Sergeants, 57 Police Officers, and 2 contracted social workers. Residency Requirement:
New hires must establish residency within boundaries outlined in the collective bargaining agreement within 15 months of hire. Additional details are available in the recruitment packet.
