Contract Duration: 6 Weeks (Potential Extension to 8 Weeks)

Schedule: Full-Time (36 Hours per Week)

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Weekend Rotation: 6 Weekend Shifts within 6-Week Assignment

On-Call: None

About the Role

MedOp Solutions is partnering with a healthcare facility in Evanston, Illinois to hire an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a short-term contract assignment.

This role is designed for a highly adaptable critical care nurse who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced ICU environment and deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients. The RN will be expected to manage complex cases, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain strong clinical judgment while floating across system ICUs as needed.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced ICU nurses seeking a short-term assignment with potential extension and exposure to multiple ICU settings within a leading healthcare system.

Unit Information

• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit
• Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years ICU experience
• Floating: Required to other ICUs within the health system as needed

Patient Types

• High-acuity critical care patients
• Medical and surgical ICU populations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill ICU patients
• Monitor and manage ventilators, drips, and life-support equipment
• Perform continuous patient assessments and respond to clinical changes
• Administer medications and titrate infusions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document all patient care accurately in EPIC
• Float to other ICU units within the system as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience required
• BLS (CPR) certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must have a passed EKG competency test prior to submission
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability skills

Scheduling & Expectations

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts during the 6-week assignment
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Floating required to other system ICUs

Orientation & Onboarding

• Start Date: Within 2 weeks of offer
• Orientation Day: Monday
• Credentials Due: Thursday prior to start date
• Submission Requirements:
  • Updated resume
  • Skills checklist (within 12 months)
  • One professional reference from within the past year
  • Active license verification
  • All active certifications
  • Proof of passed EKG competency test
