Physical Therapist Job Details

• Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864 – Southern Illinois healthcare jobs
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,370 - $2,430
• Setting: Outpatient hospital-based physical therapy, with occasional acute care and inpatient rehab coverage
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday (flexible shifts: 5x8s, 4x10s, 4x9s + half day)
• Shift: Day shifts (8:00am–4:30pm; one late day 9:00am–5:30pm; other flexible options)
• On-call: Rotation every 7 weeks
• Holiday Coverage: Rotated, approximately one holiday per year
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue or khakis/lab coat

Physical Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in acute care or hospital setting
• Active Illinois state PT license
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• First-time travel Physical Therapists welcome
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend/holiday coverage
• Travel assignment not available to locals within 70 miles

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in an outpatient hospital environment
• Support acute care and inpatient rehab coverage as needed
• Perform patient assessments, create individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based therapy interventions
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and rehabilitation goals
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
• Document patient interactions and progress using Epic EMR
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and holiday coverage
• Maintain safety and infection control standards in all clinical settings
