Explore life at Fortune Brands here Job Description As the Director of Brand Development and Product Marketing for our Therma-Tru and Larson Storm Doors brands, you will serve as the strategic leader and brand champion for two of the most recognized and innovative names in our portfolio. This newly expanded role combines brand development and commercialization into one unified leadership position—evolving from a previously brand-only focus to encompass full go-to-market ownership. You’ll define the brand vision, lead go-to-market strategy, and drive integrated brand experiences that resonate across customer segments and channels. This role serves as the primary voice and advocate for the brands, internally and externally, while empowering a team of marketers to bring those strategies to life. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in brand marketing, product launch planning, and cross-functional collaboration to build, position, and grow trusted brands in competitive markets. Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation. What You Will Be Doing- Manage and guide brand strategy and go-to-market planning for Therma-Tru and Larson Storm Doors, setting vision, priorities, and long-term positioning.
- Serve as the brand advocate and spokesperson, ensuring clarity and consistency in brand messaging across all internal and external touchpoints.
- Guide product launch and commercialization strategy across all door categories, aligning brand experiences with evolving consumer needs and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Brand Operations to develop annual brand and marketing plans, initiate and shape campaign concepts, review proposals, and ensure seamless activation.
- Drive brand experience, PR, and media engagement to strengthen awareness, relevance, and consumer trust.
- Translate insights and market trends into actionable strategies that enhance brand equity and market performance.
- Think Fast by evaluating performance metrics, market feedback, and consumer trends to inform planning and adjust course as needed.
- Work It Together by building strong cross-functional relationships with Product, Sales, Creative, Digital, and external partners to deliver integrated, high-impact programs.
- Make the Hard Call by prioritizing efforts, navigating competing demands, and making strategic decisions that support sustainable growth.
- Champion a customer-centric mindset—recognizing that outdoor home improvement projects are significant undertakings—and ensuring brand messaging and marketing programs reflect this level of care and commitment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, product marketing, and go-to-market strategy.
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams.
- Proven success in shaping brand strategies and bringing them to life across product launches and integrated campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, working collaboratively with internal teams and agency partners.
- Expertise in brand positioning, storytelling, and omnichannel marketing execution.
- Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to convert insights into compelling strategies.
