An AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its Business & Finance practice in Chicago, with a focus on middle-market private equity and transactional work .

This opportunity is ideal for a corporate associate interested in working on sophisticated private equity and M&A transactions across a variety of industries , while collaborating closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

The Role

The associate will work closely with partners and clients on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters , including middle-market private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance, financing and restructuring, and other complex business transactions .

Associates will take on significant responsibility in drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing deal execution, and advising clients throughout the lifecycle of transactions .

Ideal Background

• 6–7 years of corporate and transactional experience
• Experience with M&A transactions (buy-side and sell-side)
• Experience representing private equity sponsors and portfolio companies preferred
• Experience with entity formation, governance, financing, and restructuring matters
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and deal management skills
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar, or eligible for admission

Compensation

Salary Range: $285,000 – $345,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
