Your New Role

This Chicago, IL-based role puts you front and center on complex jobs that keep the city’s heating systems running smoothly. We work on commercial boilers and volume water heaters in multi-family and commercial settings on the north side of Chicago. Our service area covers the Gold Coast, Des Plaines, Skokie, Park Ridge up to the Evanston area. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Answering service calls for heating and hot water issues

• Servicing high-efficiency commercial boilers (2M+ BTU)

• Diagnosing and repairing forced-draft and atmospheric burners

• Wiring and commissioning control systems for commercial equipment

• Handling repairs on boilers, pumps, furnaces, water heaters, controls, and A/C systems

• Following safety procedures and ensuring code compliance at all times

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with steam and hydronic boiler systems, preferably in commercial settings

• Skilled in working on atmospheric, forced draft, and high-efficiency condensing boilers

• Proficient in electrical and system diagnostics, including control and electrical wiring installation and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of boiler combustion testing, burner setup, and commissioning

• Capable of wiring a boiler from start to finish, with full knowledge of relays, safety devices, and control circuits

• Familiarity with steam trap testing, vacuum pumps, and hydronic pump sizing and performance

• Comfortable wiring and commissioning controls for commercial systems

• Comprehensive understanding of steam systems (majority of work is steam-based)

• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills

• Self-driven, dependable, and capable of working independently

• Physically fit to handle tools, equipment, and job site conditions safely

• Valid driver’s license required
