General Manager
Ballyhoo Hospitality is currently seeking an experienced General Manager to join our talented team in opening a Japanese Restaurant in Glenview, Zenzi Den.

Tucked into downtown Glenview, Zenzi Den is Ballyhoo Hospitality’s newest concept, arriving Spring 2026. The space blends Japanese-inspired comfort with a buzzy, come-as-you-are energy, layered with natural textures and intentional design. Thoughtfully sourced meats, seafood, and vegetables hit the robata grill, where live fire does what it does best, deep flavor, real soul. Whether you’re settling in for a low-key dinner or gathering the crew, Zenzi Den brings Ballyhoo’s signature feel-good dining and genuinely warm hospitality to the table.
Job Summary:
We place the highest value on GMs who actively engage on the floor and consistently interact with guests, as this is fundamentally the most vital aspect of our work. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
These job functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties; additional duties may be assigned.
- Attain comprehensive training across various positions within Ballyhoo Hospitality.
- Lead a team with integrity and foster open communication.
- Serve as restaurant ambassador in guest engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain culture focused on respect and inclusion.
- Lead and partner with the management team in daily operations.
- Partner with the marketing team in all and any marketing initiatives.
- Ensure menu quality standards are met during each guest experience.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, F&B cost, labor cost, service, hospitality, quality, restaurant appearance, sanitation and local law compliance.
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to established cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with the restaurant’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for entire restaurant staff.
- Write weekly staff schedules.
- Follow company guidelines for hiring, training and coaching processes
- Provide assistance where necessary to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations are maintained.
- Complete weekly assignments as designated.
- Participate in the Weekly Managers Meeting
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the General Manager must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership roles within the restaurant/hospitality industry is required.
- Proficiency in restaurant management and operations is essential.
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities are a must.
- The ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with diverse business partners is expected.
- Strong capabilities in managing and interpreting restaurant financials are necessary.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Restaurant 365, Resy and Toast POS is a plus!
