Job Description

The Site Safety, Quality & Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role responsible for overseeing construction operations, safety compliance, and quality control on a federal healthcare roofing project in North Chicago, IL. This position ensures compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, USACE EM 385-1-1, VA, and NAVFAC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field activities and supervise subcontractors.

• Administer the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of work in an occupied medical facility.

• Serve as SSHO, Competent Person, and Superintendent/CQC Manager.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction and quality control.

• Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA 29 CFR 1926.

• Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1, VA, and NAVFAC requirements.

• Proficiency in implementing safety training and compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Authority over quality matters as CQC System Manager.

• Ability to implement three-phase control processes.

• Experience with NAVFAC eCMS is preferred.

Work Environment

The role is located at the Captain Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL, focusing on replacing the roof on the main hospital. The project is for NAVFAC / Department of Veterans Affairs. The work environment involves managing safety and quality in an active medical facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.07/hr.
