Job Title: Commercial Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with steel stud framing, drywall, and acoustical ceilings, and will have the ability to perform various types of general commercial carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with 1-2 other carpenters and a foreman on most projects, which are primarily new constructions with some fit-outs.
• Perform general commercial carpentry including blueprint reading, selective hand demolition, wood (rough) carpentry, and millwork.
• Complete finish carpentry tasks such as drywall hanging, taping, spackling, and finishing.
• Execute metal stud framing and ACT ceiling installations.
• Install acoustical ceilings, doors, frames, and hardware.
• Utilize hand and electric tools effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in framing, metal stud work, and acoustic ceiling installation.
• Experience in commercial carpentry and drywall work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in steel stud carpentry is preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.

Work Environment

Work typically takes place from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with the requirement to wear high visibility clothing, jeans, hard hat, and safety boots. You will work closely with 1-2 other carpenters and a foreman, depending on the size of the job. Our team of approximately 100 field personnel, including superintendents and laborers, fosters a friendly and supportive work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of St. Charles, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
