IT Technician Assistant
Please Note:
- This is a 100% On-Site (Part-Time - Approx. 20 hours/week) located at Park Ridge, IL.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday: 6 PM-9 PM, Saturday: 9 AM-5 PM & Sunday: 12 PM-5 PM (Approximately 20 Hours/Week).
- Type: Part-Time, W2 Preferred.
Position Summary:
The IT Technician will support the daily technical operations during evenings and weekends. Under the direction of the full-time IT Manager, this role provides basic desktop support, public assistance, troubleshooting of routine issues, printer support, and general monitoring of network and AV systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person support to staff and patrons during evenings and weekends
- Assist users with login issues, printing problems, and workstation operation
- Monitor and report issues related to Wi-Fi, access points, and AV equipment
- Replace or troubleshoot peripherals (printers, scanners, phones) as needed
- Assist with minor system reboots, cable management, or physical equipment setup
- Log incidents, assist with documentation, and escalate issues to the IT Manager
- Help perform maintenance tasks like updates and inventory checks under guidance
- Ensure timely reporting of critical system alerts during working hours.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree/diploma in Information Technology or related field (or enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s program)
- 1–2 years of basic IT support or help desk experience preferred
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Office 365, printers, and basic networking
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in public-facing settings
- Must be dependable and able to work onsite during specified evening/weekend hours.
