Job Title: Dosimetrist

Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Hybrid; 2–3 days onsite per week)

Compensation:

• Up to $3,100 weekly (Local candidates within 50 miles)

• Up to $3,800 weekly (Non-local candidates, 50+ miles away)

We are currently seeking a qualified Dosimetrist to join a dynamic radiation oncology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, calculating, and verifying accurate radiation dose distributions for both external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) and brachytherapy . This role requires strong collaboration with radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists to ensure the highest standards of care and precision in treatment planning.

• Develop and verify complex radiation treatment plans using treatment planning software for EBRT and brachytherapy.

• Collaborate with radiation oncologists to design appropriate field arrangements and beam modifications.

• Manage the dosimetry team’s daily workflow and provide operational oversight.

• Assist with quality assurance (QA) , machine calibrations , and radiation protection in coordination with the chief physicist.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal radiation safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment parameters in patient medical records.

• Support radiation therapists by troubleshooting questions related to daily setup and plan execution.

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient care conferences.

• Engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and professional development activities to maintain clinical competency.

• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in radiation dosimetry.

• Strong foundation in math and physics , and ability to work closely with medical physicists.

• Effective communicator and team collaborator within the oncology care team.

• Experience with EPIC Beacon and/or Aria Oncology Information System (OIS) required (minimum 1 year).

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.

• Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) is required.
