About the Role:
The Receiving Associate plays a critical role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and supply chain processes by managing the receipt and inspection of incoming goods. This position ensures that all shipments are accurately checked against purchase orders and delivery documents to maintain inventory integrity. The Receiving Associate is responsible for organizing and storing received items in designated locations, facilitating smooth downstream operations such as order fulfillment and inventory management. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role supports the overall success of the company by ensuring that inventory is accurately accounted for and readily available for production or distribution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and reading skills to verify shipment details and complete documentation.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Experience using inventory management or warehouse management systems is preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Proficiency with barcode scanners and computerized inventory systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items against purchase orders and delivery manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate department.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system and label products as necessary.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations to optimize space and accessibility.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures related to receiving and handling materials.

The Receiving Associate utilizes strong organizational and observational skills daily to ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately checked and recorded, preventing inventory discrepancies. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve any issues related to shipments. Physical stamina and safe material handling techniques are applied consistently to manage the unloading and storage of goods efficiently. Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning technology supports accurate data entry and tracking of received items. Additionally, problem-solving skills help the associate address and escalate any discrepancies or damages found during the receiving process, ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
