Physical Therapist Assistant Job Details

• Location: Urbana, IL 61801 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 20, 2025)
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Shift Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1620 - $1660 per week
• Employment Type: Travel PTA (locum tenens)

Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or related healthcare field
• Active Illinois Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a PTA; inpatient rehab experience preferred

PTA Responsibilities

• Implement intervention plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, utilizing functional activities tailored to patient needs in an inpatient rehab setting
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods
• Adjust treatments based on patient response, collaborating with the supervising Physical Therapist
• Produce accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
• Utilize standardized outcome measures to reflect patient functional performance
• Collaborate with patients, families, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process, providing education and family training
• Communicate changes in patient status, functional performance, or treatment plan requests to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Clearly communicate patient performance, activity recommendations, and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary medical team
• If applicable, complete annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements
