Project Engineer
Job Description: Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, you will manage customer projects from order entry through delivery and closeout. This role requires ensuring timelines, scope, and deliverables are met while serving as the primary technical contact for customers. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain project flow and address any issues that may arise.
Responsibilities

Manage assigned customer projects from order entry through delivery and closeout, ensuring timelines, scope, and deliverables are achieved.

Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability prior to release to production.

Review and validate bills of materials (BOMs) to confirm correctness, structure, and alignment with project requirements.

Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, supporting clarifications, revisions, and issue resolution.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to maintain project flow and remove bottlenecks.

Track project milestones and proactively identify risks that could impact cost, schedule, or quality.

Manage engineering changes and customer revisions, ensuring proper documentation and communication.

Support production by clarifying technical requirements and resolving drawing or BOM discrepancies.

Maintain organized and accurate project documentation in accordance with internal standards.

Collaborate with quality and operations teams to ensure delivered products meet company and customer requirements.

Drive continuous improvement in project workflows, documentation accuracy, and handoff processes.
Essential Skills
-
Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Onshape.

Experience in BOMs analysis.

Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal sales team, engineers, leadership, and customers.

Experience managing technical or manufacturing-related projects in a production environment.

Ability to review engineering drawings and bills of materials for accuracy and manufacturability.

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Experience supporting customers in a technical or project coordination capacity.

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows preferred.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation systems preferred.

Formal engineering degree preferred but not required; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of North Aurora, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in North Aurora,IL.
