Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience required. License: Must have active state nursing license to apply. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Telemetry experience preferred. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: PICC line management, Starting IVs. Cerner experience preferred. Previous travel experience is preferred. Description: Position for an Orthopedic RN on a 38-bed unit. The shift schedule is 3x12s nights from 18:45 to 07:15. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend work is required; candidates will work every other weekend. There are no on-call requirements. Clinicians may float to other Medical-Surgical departments as needed. Block scheduling is not accommodated. Candidates must not submit more than 5 days of requested time off. A maximum of 36 hours may be call-off by the client without compensation for those hours. If more hours are canceled than allowed, there will be additional billing. If candidates are placed on-call instead of being called off, that will count as a canceled shift. Special requirements include telemetry experience. Candidates should possess IV therapy skills and experience with PICC line management and starting IVs. Cerner experience is preferred, and previous travel experience is a plus. The facility is an acute care hospital with 562 beds and is a Magnet facility. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses primarily involve orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacements and trauma cases requiring orthopedic surgical interventions. Special procedures and unit details include traction, bedside debridement, and complex dressing changes. Equipment used includes slings, walkers, canes, traction, casts, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe pumps, hospital beds, PAS boot machines, vital sign monitors, and vein finders. Candidates may be required to float within the facility or nearby facilities. Candidates must complete compliance requirements in a timely manner. There will be modules required for onboarding that must be completed within specified deadlines.
