Job Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician/Electrician who will set up, operate, fit, and assemble parts to repair industrial machinery and maintain plant facilities. They will be responsible for executing both mechanical maintenance and industrial electrical assignments accurately and on schedule. They must have a a strong mechanical foundation, solid electrical wiring capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to promote quality production and operational efficiency across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe facilities, machinery, and equipment in operation to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and determine repair needs.
- Run electrical circuits, bend conduit, and wire connections into main breaker boxes and switchgear.
- Run and bend copper piping/tubing to connect rectifiers; perform ongoing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on rectifier units.
- Perform all high- and low-voltage electrical work in strict compliance with safety guidelines and Arc Flash standards.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) services, equipment lubrication, and machine tool upkeep across the facility.
- Dismantle machinery and equipment to examine defective components, replacing parts or fabricating replacements from metal stock.
- Apply industrial welding techniques as needed to repair, modify, or construct plant equipment and structural fixtures.
- Reassemble machinery and conduct post-repair test runs to verify proper calibration and resolution of system malfunctions.
- Follow paperwork procedures to track, update, and complete assigned maintenance work orders and job cards accurately.
- Immediately report critical equipment hazards, facility issues, or safety concerns to maintenance management.
- Train, guide, and monitor new maintenance technicians and apprentices on safety protocols and shop operations as requested.
- Support daily quality production goals and maintain positive collaborative relationships across cross-functional plant departments.
Required Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required (Vocational/Technical School degree or apprenticeship completion preferred) or a minimum of 2 years of industrial/electrical experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- Hands-on experience running electrical circuits, bending conduit, wiring breaker boxes/switchgear, and executing electrical work with or without drawings.
- Mechanical Inclination: Strong mechanical assembly, component fitting, equipment lubrication, and machine repair capabilities.
- Practical welding skills for equipment maintenance and metal component repairs.
- Working knowledge of Arc Flash safety standards and general manufacturing safety protocols.
